Alaittin Kırtışoğlu
Welcome! I am a third-year Ph.D. student in Applied Mathematics at Illinois Institute of Technology, and I am a member of discrete math research group. I do my research in combinatorial optimization and graph theory under the supervision of Hemanshu Kaul.
In the summer of 2022, I was a full time intern in a ten week education/research program administered by ORISE under the sponsorship of NSF at Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory (FERMILAB).
Before my Ph.D., I was a master student studying graph theory under the supervision of Lale Ozkahya in the Department of Mathematics at Hacettepe University. At the same time, I was working at TED University as a teaching assistant.
When I am not doing math, I enjoy playing GO (1 dan player) and chess, reading poetry, working out, traveling, and camping in the nature.
A Special Thank You:
To Nesin Mathematics Village and Cakilarasi Math Village, where I have spent every summer and winter breaks of six years between 2015 and 2021. The villages had provided housing, great lectures, and a wonderful science community.
